Congratulations to Loyola’s Forensics Team!

This weekend, the Forensics team traveled to the State Championship Tournament at Hofstra University in Long Island, where they competed against the best competitors from the whole of New York State, from Niagara to Long Island. In order to qualify you have to be one of the top-ranked competitors in your category at two separate tournaments, so it is a real accomplishment to even win the opportunity to compete. The team members were Kate Rose, Jarrod Sinibaldi, Benno Kass, Julia Robinson, Kiera Xanthos, Siobhan Kiernan, Isabelle McNamara-Angel and Daniela Pierro. Although a small team, we did incredibly well: Isabelle McNamara was ranked 26th in the entire state in Declamation, and Kiera Xanthos was 27th in Dramatic Performance. Daniela Pierro placed 15th in Declamation, and Siobhan Kiernan was 13th in original oratory. Siobhan, Daniela and Isabelle actually missed out on making it through to the next stages of the competition by one place. Julia Robinson made it through to the final stage of Original Oratory, placing 6th in the state in original oratory, and Kate Rose, competing in Student Congress, was also ranked the 6th best in the state. It was a great overall performance for the team - congratulations!
