The Loyola School retreat program provides the opportunity for students to step back from the “busy-ness” of their lives and reflect with gratitude on God’s presence in their daily experiences and in the world around them. The retreats are designed to encourage students to recognize God present in all things, to develop new ways of praying, and to grow in their relationships – with God, with one another, and with their families.
Seniors, working in close collaboration with the Director of Campus Ministry and a team of faculty members, plan and facilitate all of the student retreats. The required retreat program begins with an overnight retreat in the school building for the freshmen, and builds incrementally each year, culminating in the 4-day Kairos retreat for seniors. In addition to the required retreats for each grade, there are optional retreat opportunities for juniors and seniors, as well as retreats for faculty and staff, parents, and alumni/ae.
